Madrid- In the beginning

HISTORY OF MADRID.

Madrid was not always as good as it is today. It was not even the capital of Spain until 1561. Madrid was called Madrid since moorish people built a wall called Majerit. It is not even a spanish word but with a spanish acent, they changed it to Madrid.
It has had a lot of problems with reconquist in the capital.
Finally, everything became as normal as always and now times, Madrid is still the capital of the country.

This street which appear on the picture above, is one of the main streets in Madrid. You will see how it has changed with the past of the years on the next post.

In Madrid, also we have some bullfights which take place in Plaza de Toros Monumental de las Ventas.
There are also verbenas (fairs) as Saint Isidro and romerias where people go walking from a city to Santiago de Compostela Cathedral. They do this once a year.
