Madrid flag is use to be confused  with the province of Madrid flag which has a red background with 7 white stars.
What is in the middle of this flag is Madrid seal. It has a bear standing at a madroño tree. This kind of tree is typical spanish. Some people don't know what is the point of that seal. there is a theory which is the following: it represents farming rights between the clergy and the citiziens.
Also, as you can see on the blue part of the seal, there are 7 stars. They represent the secen stars of the Osa Mayor (Great bear) constellation.

The city of madrid is locating in the Community of madrid. It is situated in the center of Spain and de city of Madrid is located almost exactly in the center of the Community. Here is a picture showing the area of Madrid and Madrid city.

TWO PATRON SAINTS.

The two main Patron Saints are: 1. The Virgen of the Almudena (November 9th) and 2. Saint isidro (May 15th).
In Madrid, also we have some bullfights which take place in Plaza de Toros Monumental de las Ventas.
There are also verbenas (fairs) as Saint Isidro and romerias where people go walking from a city to Santiago de Compostela Cathedral. They do this once a year.
